Comment by Wessel-130766(4/8/2014 2:36:37 PM) - A bit pale to me. If this was intended to be HDR there should be a lot more data available to enrich the colors and detail

Comment by Wessel-130766(4/8/2014 2:35:11 PM) - Maybe if you aimed a bit higher you got the whole top of the mast and you automatically got this elimanated[^831;580;1]
A pity of the HDR halo around the edges.
I see you have a D600 now. Enjoy it:))

Comment by Jeanne Miller(4/8/2014 2:02:08 AM) - I must be falling in love with your photographic touch. Love this one. Did you do much post processing?

Comment by Jeanne Miller(4/8/2014 2:00:14 AM) - Very impressive. Human scale not just valuable, but also very interesting.

Comment by Jeanne Miller(4/8/2014 1:54:39 AM) - I tried this with New St, Louis Cathedral. Yours is far more successful.

Comment by Jeanne Miller(4/8/2014 1:53:25 AM) - I really like this crazy angular sticky photo. Intriguing pov.

Comment by Ray Griffiths ( )(4/6/2014 12:42:20 PM) - Bull bars on a taxi. Tough streets out there! Well seen.

Comment by saeed (Saeed Hasanabbasi)(2/28/2014 4:40:47 AM) - Si nice portrait , Is he Edward?

Comment by saeed (Saeed Hasanabbasi)(2/28/2014 4:38:47 AM) - So beautiful, Nice model and very well captured.

Comment by Jeanne Miller(2/26/2014 12:04:07 PM) - Is it just moi, or am I seeing double vision effect?

Comment by Ray Griffiths ( )(2/26/2014 8:04:56 AM) - The lighting and the subject's expression create a strong mood, suggesting a strong personality. I would like to have seen this cropped as a portrait for more effect.

Comment by B2O(2/26/2014 5:18:23 AM) - Nice side lightning indeed but a bit too harsh for me also. The proposal of Tim is for me a bit far to the other way, but like it also. Maybe somewhere in between. But 50 shades of personal shades:)

Comment by TW_Bda (Tim White)(2/26/2014 4:43:17 AM) - Nice pose. People may like the strong contrast here, but for my personal taste it is too much, so I had a go at a more intimate crop, bringing out a little more detail in an effort at low key.

Comment by Reda Danaf(2/26/2014 3:27:32 AM) - Great portrait, nice side lighting.

Comment by Wessel-130766(2/20/2014 2:28:57 PM) - I really like this as well. With a few small remarks: This transition I am not sure[^23;156;1]
Maybe try to tone down the greenish look here as well[^101;120;1]
Also agree with the small bright spot.
But the treatment and mood is really Excellent!!

Comment by LindaY (Linda Y)(2/20/2014 8:19:04 AM) - This is quite well done, Gene. The texture makes this look like a classic, "Old Masters" painting. Perhaps it is my monitor, but I find this area [^431;97;1] a tiny bit bright and providing just a little bit of distraction from the lovely face of the child...still, that may be just my tastes.

Comment by B2O(2/20/2014 6:40:52 AM) - Nice image Gene. I have a great feeling about her face, expression and the curtain. I would be glad to see it without the texture because I don't know about the texture in her hair. [^277;154;1][^399;200;1][^175;101;1] It is balanced in the rest of the image but is a bit dissonant in my opinion in the hair.
Besides that "it is a great portrait"

Comment by Ray Griffiths ( )(2/20/2014 2:47:58 AM) - This is very good, I like it a lot. Well done.

Comment by Wessel-130766(2/15/2014 3:40:34 PM) - Ditto Ray about the blurring and color cast.
But the details and good contact.
I also would go for b&W (see my example)

I fixed the hat a bit so it doesn't dissolve half way.

Comment by Wessel-130766(2/15/2014 3:32:36 PM) - Great shot Gene. For me personally I masked out the blur on the shirt ans hat. And did you use a double frame??[^752;304;1] It's kinda bothering me
But wonderful detail and eye contact

Comment by joe bellantoni(2/14/2014 2:17:00 PM) - this one looks good either way...b/w or color.....nice job

Comment by joe bellantoni(2/14/2014 1:48:12 PM) - I think IMHO that the way this should go is b/w to me much better

Comment by Ray Griffiths ( )(2/14/2014 3:37:23 AM) - A fine portrait, some blurring top and bottom I'm not sure about, some discolouration too bottom right.

Comment by Jeanne Miller(2/14/2014 12:09:31 AM) - Another winner. I saw the one you posted after this first. You are Good! Like you to come and shoot me!
Look at those eyes and that hesitant smile. Like he's a bit embarrassed to be so paid attention to.

Comment by Jeanne Miller(2/14/2014 12:06:03 AM) - This portrait oozes personality. Almost sure I'm talking to this guy. Light and shadow perfect. Pose refreshingly different. Excellent work.

Comment by Reidar(12/29/2013 11:08:20 AM) - I am not sure about the toning. To much brown imo. Nice composition.

Comment by Ray Griffiths ( )(12/29/2013 10:55:34 AM) - Some interesting processing here, but watch the halos between buildings and sky.

Comment by Vadim Shirokov(12/14/2013 5:40:13 AM) - #1 Wessel-130766: I have seen it too.

=1
Comment by Wessel-130766(12/14/2013 4:07:25 AM) - Scenery is nice but the PP doesn't work for me. I also miss the overall sharpness in the image. And if you sharpen be careful for this [^104;394;1]

Comment by Vadim Shirokov(12/5/2013 1:11:25 PM) - and this [^-21;623;1] [^-20;730;1]

Comment by Wessel-130766(12/5/2013 1:52:31 AM) - Nice soft portrait shot. May clone this out[^-22;17;1]

Comment by Reidar(11/30/2013 3:46:32 AM) - It is tilting a little to the left. And it also need s little more contrast!!
