This is WONDERFUL! How lucky for you the bus window was clean! I wonder what that young man is thinking...that piercing look is almost haunting....and the man's expression sitting beside him is hard to read. Winner shot to me, Yuri!
2 btezra   (7/15/2004 6:31:11 AM)
~simply outstanding Yuri...not mich more I can say than that~
3 Ruud (they just ain't worth it)   (7/15/2004 6:40:52 AM)
It's a disgrace, it's a shame, It makes me sad and mad!!!
This is a perfect example of how beautiful photography can be! Quality high above!
And what does it get after 37 views 2 comments and some slamming votes. SHAME!!!

~Ruud, I could not agree with you more, exactly the reason that drove me away...this image has so much going for it that it is a shame it is underservingly receiving crappy votes and an overall lack of comments...~
7 gizelle (Gizellae Marie Khan)   (7/15/2004 7:26:40 AM)

10 Marc Guyt   (7/15/2004 8:07:20 AM)
Photography at it's best. Like a window to past times. I could be an opening scene in Sergio Leone's forgotten movie: 'Once upon a time in Russia.'
11 Ivo Godinho   (7/15/2004 8:34:43 AM)
For me, top of the day
... Excellent
12 Adam Piscitelli   (7/15/2004 8:52:52 AM)
One of the top 5 images I've seen on PB. This photo has it all: Mood, composition, intrigue and technical superiority. I just gave it my first '10'.

I have to agree with Ruud and Craig about the apathy toward this image. It's one of the reasons I can't take the blinks and rankings seriously.
13 Amuletum ( )   (7/15/2004 9:13:00 AM)

38 archera (Roland DiSabatino)   (7/15/2004 7:22:36 PM)
What apathy? Sometimes the end of the day has a different tale to tell, epecially when a photo is posted so early in the AM, New York time. Also this wonderful photo proves that the slamming votes don't mean a thing, because just like cream, a great photo rises to the top no matter what. This is most excellent work, Yuri ... Congrats!

I'm very happy to see that things (score) have changed from when Ruud saw this. This is an excellent photo - I keep going back and looking at it again. The rain on the window gives it a great mood, and the look on the boy's face, well, that is one of the tings that makes this great.
very well done, a well deserved POTD. just sorry that I'm only seeing this now. 9.75
44 StudRider   (7/16/2004 1:17:31 AM)

47 David Lavash   (7/16/2004 4:22:39 AM)
I think many of us would have looked at that bus window and turned away. Rain, obscured visibility, reluctance to use the camera...You didn't and we all benefit. Well done!
