Great picture, with a 'beauty and the beast' like contrast. The hermit might have been a little lighter, I couldn't make him out at first, although with pictures like this a lot depends on whether you view them in daylight or not.

I wish the statue was brighter and I could see the face. as is I can hardly make out if this is the "face"..I think I see the eyes. also maybe not having her so centered. I can not agree with all the praise on this, sorry.
18 Martynas   (9/16/2005 9:08:59 AM)
Turn off the lights and try to look at it in darkness Cheryl - you will see the face very well. I don't agree with Cheryl at all, because I like very much the Contrast between the dark statute (all the details exactly seen very well) and bright, light, beautiful blonde girl (ech I love her!).

#18 Martynas(Papartynas :):my lights are off and there is no way you see the face very well, my monitor tends to be brighter than most not darker. You couldn't be honest if your life depended on it. suck up.
20 CherylB (I only lie when I do not like your pic)   (9/16/2005 9:13:39 AM)
if you notice above one other also mentioned the darkness and the rest are only looking at the naked girl and voting with their penis

I dont like borders, so I was cropping the borders and then I finished cropping a lot more.
Please, see it at 100% white.
I think the contrast white (girl) x black (statue) is fine and also works as a hidden message.

The statue is really a gift - a great setting.
The girl gives his pose a completely different meaning.
I like the dark tones of the statue. It makes the skin tone of the girl look even more delicate.
Not much to add here, I like it.

#23 Rick X(Young Whippersnapper): I like your crop suggestion.

Well, I don't knw what all the bickering is about...I can see the whole statue and pretty well for what needs to be seen....It is not got any shadow detail...maybe that is what all this talk is about but, I don't really honestly think it needs too much of that for this image. Normally I would be looking for it but I think of this more as an art nude and the tones look very good to me....
I am likeing this the more I look at it but I do have one very small nit...I know it can't be changed because of the award on it but just want to let you know ...the small white areas in the top left , don't fit the rest of the image and should be cloned out or filled in some hoh...right here
You have a very nice image IMO the art type which I love in your work when it is not off the wall....congrats

Very good, the image tells its own story, the contrast between the model and the stonework works great.

Love it, I can imagine a greek myth surrounding the scene.

10: Inspirational. The photographer has used exemplary technique, creativity and/or perseverance to quite uniquely convey the essence of the subject matter and/or moment. One enjoys viewing the image again and again, for the aesthetics, interpretive, or documentary value and there is nothing that could possibly be changed to improve upon it. The photograph has magic.

9: Excellent. This is a great image with exemplary execution that supports the subject matter. There is, however, just a very slight hint of something that takes away from the unique, "magic" or completeness that would have made this a 10, and this aspect was likely well beyond the control of the photographer.
