Nice perspective and colors. Looks like it mught be tilting to the right a bit - but that could possibly just be my head:)

Lovely image.
10 Kenn Reay   (11/22/2005 7:09:52 AM)
Lovely scene well composed and even though the sky effect isnt dramatic, it does fit with the scene. You're going to make this 5D really work aren't you? Keep it dry at all costs. Kenn

12 KAY (........ .......)   (11/22/2005 9:04:55 AM)
I like how you composed this, and agree with Liz on the water and reflections. I feel a tilt too but maybe you started your horizon here, anyway that is a small nit , beauty of a scene.. congrats on the new camera.
13 Tyler Somes   (11/22/2005 10:25:03 AM)
Oozes the good feeling of a perfectly exposed subtle landscape. The lack of dynamic colors works beautifully for you.
14 Brites dos Santos (Artur JBS)   (11/22/2005 11:00:15 AM)
God reflections and colors. Well done.
15 Rick X (Rick Xavier)   (11/22/2005 11:02:35 AM)

22 Colin Homes   (11/22/2005 1:42:21 PM)
Lovely shot Mel, great reflections. Perhaps a bit too much space to the right for my liking, but still a cracking shot.
23 oneolden   (11/22/2005 1:46:04 PM)
A superb tranquil capture with beautiful composition.
24 Awais   (11/22/2005 3:48:44 PM)

25 Greg (Greg Governale)   (11/22/2005 3:51:44 PM)
I really like this image....Very nice comp...Very nice color...wonderful reflections. I think in this case the blah sky actually helps. It keeps the focus on the boat, leaves and water. Very well done!
26 Cheryl Surry   (11/22/2005 4:31:17 PM)
I've seen that boat before ;-))

Nice image and nice to meet you this weekend. Can't really vote as I am on a dodgy dial-up that compresses all images.

Just happened to be on talking to Claire - see I did remember

28 Keith Frost   (11/22/2005 5:26:50 PM)
You really have made the most of this Mel. Nice idea to use the grad, and the simplicity of the composition is excellent too. Really like the detail in the water - no polariser ? Looks as though the new camera has got off to a great start - well done - Keith

great clarity!
35 cARTerART (Claire Carter)   (11/23/2005 2:05:27 PM)
The water is crystal clear in the shadow area. Leaves on pier a good addition as are placement of oars - a happy accident or did you do a "Colin" on them? ; )
36 WalterL   (11/23/2005 2:30:15 PM)
Terrific control on the light.
37 Olo   (11/24/2005 2:54:59 PM)

40 Martin Stainsby   (11/25/2005 12:14:37 PM)
Great shot.I like the way the saturated colours are captured in the fg and contrast so well against the soft grey background. Congrats on POTD
41 Amuletum ( )   (11/25/2005 1:30:10 PM)

All has been said above. Top class!!!
43 Dave Frost   (12/11/2005 1:53:12 PM)
Mel, you have done so well to capture a great shot on such a grey day, when most of us would have gone home.
The pull of the 17mm on the full sensor is very powerful. Just wonderful. Dave
44 Dave Frost   (12/11/2005 1:54:05 PM)
And I should have added... Congrats on the POTD. Well done.
45 Rudi Van Gestel   (12/30/2005 5:33:55 PM)
