detailsMany thanks my friends for your comments on my previous posting "Reflection ", and I reassure you all that I haven't done any PS work apart from adjusting levels and, sharpening, and de noise..I wish I could send the RAW file to prove my point, but what I can do is I will post another shot of the same bird at the same location taken seconds before this one to prove my point.
Hope this clarify the whole issue

what happened to this in the other pic??? How did this black area appear so uniform in these pics? Wildlife is not supposed to be really fixed up like this.

I don't believe the comments this image has had, reflections are funny things and can look quite odd at times plus reflections are transparent especially when something underneath is red, ie the birds legs.
Reda says this image is more or less straight out of the camera and unless you are calling him a liar you should believe what the author says.
You could post a screen shot of the original raw file Reda to prove your point but in all honesty there should be no need, your word is good enough for me.

#3 Reda Danaf: You still need to explain to me how the dark area came to be?

Joe, the dark area came as a result of a cast shadow of a tall building on the other side of the lake, hope this is satisfactory ...
Sorry that this photo has caused all this confusion..I wish I didn't take it..lollllll.

Hi Reda. This shot indeed makes clear that the Stilt was in deep water and the ripples do clearly originate from its legs. Once I see that, my eyes can accept that the shadow is as shot, but my comment that it "looks" unnatural is just a personal view. This shot makes it easier to accept, however. The Stilt is a fine looking bird, but I do think that the sharpening is overdone - the edges are too harsh again. Have you tried Topaz Detail? - it's a great filter for showing feather detail without getting the halos

Many thanks Tim, that is a relief at last.
I have the Topaz detail filter, but didn't use it on this one or the previous shot, now I will rework them using the Topaz filter.
Thanks again Tim.
Best regards,
Reda Danaf
