title PPG Place at Market Square
date4/5/2002 7:58:17 AM
detailsMarket Square dates back to Pittsburgh in its infancy in 1784. Although it has undergone many changes, it remains a vibrant part of the city. No wonder PPG built its headquarters right next door. Here you can see the spires of the six story building number two, as well as the tower in the background as viewed from the northwest corner of Market Square. Early on a Saturday morning in spring, it is quiet here. But soon the square will be alive with people as the city slowly wakes up. Restored buildings along this street include the Nicholas Coffe Company and the 1902 Landmark Tavern.

Really love the blues in your sky reflected in your buildings with those strong verticals. The splash of colors in your composition really work well agains the blues of the buildings and sky. Nice job!

You're bringing the city to life for me through your images, Robin. I especially like this one. It captures the essence of a busy city. Mind if I slip in and get a nice cup of coffee? Take care. barb.

Very colorful and nicely composed, Robin. I, too, like the sky color repeated in the building. I also like the way you tell us about the area as well, as it makes it all that much more interesting to me. (8.5)

The stop sign cracks me up. For some reason it is warning me that the future is ahead, and I must stop or I'll be sucked right in. The old town being a colorful pallete, and the new section screaming with blues tones of the future. Amazing blend of the old and new in this image. I enjoyed it.
