detailsAnohter shot from my continuing wildflower project. This was shot with a diffuser to soften the direct sunlight and a reflector bouncing some sunlight at an almost perpendicular angle to the petals in hopes of bringing out some of the detail and sparkle in the flower. The plant was growning on a muddy stream bank, I gathered together some acorn caps and set them around it to liven up the background color a bit. Pentax Mz-S, A*200mm macro, Velvia.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments - one correction to my description: the reflector was almost perpendicular to the petals, the light it bounced on the flower was almost parallel to them. I'm sure folks interested in light and geometry would want to know that! =:-0

Very sharp with excellent exposue on the white flower, Mark. A beautiful shot of it with the green leaf and colorful background. Looks like it's floating in mid-air. (8.6)

Gorgeous. I saw this one when first posted and could not comment from work. The whites are perfect IMO. It's a delicate flower that is rarely seen or photographed outside of botanical slides. The background reflects the name, doesn't it? Great work, Mark.
