Nice lighting (and shading). This gives me the creeps just looking at it. Very nice work.

Good going, Mark! Good looking spider and stage. Nice that you didn't smoosh it!

Nice catch. My grand son caught 3 od those little critters yesterday in the bathtub, He put them in a cup and took them outside so he could save their lifes. He didn't think they could swim. as always jim

Very good detail. I like the negative space, your DOF and the shadows.

I like this photo of your spider...and I don't like spiders so that's saying something. I like how this is composed with the spider in the upper corner. The white background is a nice contrast to the dark spider and really makes him pop out of the frame. At first I was not sure if I like that the back legs were slightly out of focus...but then I looked at the photo again and throught that this was really effective. It makes him look like he is creeping out of the shadows toward the viewer.

Came home the other day after running a quick errand, to find my grandaughter waiting for me on the porch. The was a spider on the bathroom counter, that looked very much like this one. She wouldn't go back in the house till I'd removed it. LOL. I agree with Linda. This is an excellent shot of a common spider. Take care. Barb.
