title Dune #2

detailsThis shot was taken from another dune formation, similar to my previous post, when the sun was setting. I was rushing from one location to another as to take as many pictures as I could while the light was at its best! The sand in these dunes can become very hard in certain parts, and forms layers, visible on this picture. Nikon F5, 20mm lens @ f:22. 81 B filter, Fuji Velvia, Tripod.

Perfect effects of the light and using wide-angle lens. Beautiful colors and white clouds in the blue sky. Striking contrast, very sharpness and details. Outstanding and magnificent landscape! Congrats, Olivier! Sorry, the operational system doesn't allow me to vote for so find photo, because it said that I have consistently rated your works too high or too low.

Yes...this is better than previous Olivier...and it was worth waiting for...all the elaments come together very well....in this case the sum is greater than the individual parts. The dune to the left feels a component part of the scene...everything flows nicely.
Well done

Great landscape
8 Sergei Samus (Serega to friends)     (12/9/2002 6:30:42 AM)
I think this is the best of your Dunes series, Olivier. The structures of the clouds and the sand are very complementary. The whole composition is simply pooling a viewer inside the picture like quick sand to stay there forever.

Well done Oliver,,.Impreasive view, colors and light,,I like the wide angle with the lots of forgrond detail and great clouds,,.

This is a beautiful scene photographed very well.

Olivier, this shot is really breathtaking. I am not a novice in landscape photography, but this is one of the best I ever seen. Excellent color contrast, excellent DOF, excellent details. How could you manage to squeeze such quality down to 100 Kb? I score it 9.9 (only for the reason of lack of details at the closest plane). Congratulations!

Somehow the character of this image has much more drama and impact than the previous one and feels much more cohesive. I think Sergei and Dmitry sum it up well: the clouds and sand are complementary and your color contrast and excellent details are marvelous.

the colors and the way they run across the photo are wonderful. The clouds and sky make it extra nice.Darwin paddling in his canoe on the right would make it perfect.

EXCELLENT.

Wonderful work, Olivier! Congrats!

The flow through the frame is very fluid. The high bank points to the sky as does the low vegetated sand coming in from the lower right. The sky fans out and and brings the eye back to the sand and we are held in full circle to explore again. Nice realistic warm colours, good contrast and DOF, nice sharpness. Fine work!

I thought that I commented on this, but just must have looked at it at work and was going to wait till I got home. The best of your Dune series. Much better composition than the last without compromising that great light. Incredible depth in both the sky and forground. Great image.

You're right about the light, very good indeed! The wide-angle lens works well in this composition. The sky really benefits from the clouds, adding nice tonal contrast to the imege
